SwimPond Project – Reigate, Surrey

The brief – To transform an open area of lawn surrounding the shepherd’s hut into a beautiful natural pond, creating a peaceful waterside retreat and a thriving habitat for wildlife.

The client wanted to transform the area around their shepherd’s hut into a peaceful garden retreat, while creating a natural pond that would encourage wildlife and feel completely at home within its surroundings.

Previously, the shepherd’s hut sat beside an open area of lawn. The new pond was carefully shaped around the building, with a deck extending over the water to connect the hut directly with the landscape and create an inviting place to sit, relax and enjoy the garden.

Natural stone, aquatic planting and softly planted edges give the pond an established, organic appearance. The surrounding plants provide colour, movement and valuable habitat, while the clear water and reflections bring an entirely new atmosphere to this part of the garden.

The completed project has transformed a previously underused area into a secluded waterside escape, with the shepherd’s hut now becoming a true focal point within the garden.
