Our Brief was to design a natural swimming pond that would feel soft and organic, with planting and gentle landscaping around the edges, while still being practical for several guests to enjoy at the same time.
This was never about creating a standard pool. The vision was to build a place where the water feels part of the landscape, where guests can swim, listen to birdsong, and feel connected with the outdoors. The design needed to balance a wildlife-friendly setting with safe, crystal-clear water and space for groups to enjoy together.
From the early sketches through to completion, our focus was on blending beauty with function. We shaped the pond to flow with the retreat’s surroundings, added planting to create softness and habitat, and set out clear swim zones so guests could enjoy the water side by side.
The result is a pond that looks as though it has always belonged here. It is chemical-free, inviting, and ready to give every guest a true sense of escape.
