Wildlife pond refurbishment – Beaconsfield, South Bucks
Derek contacted us to refurbish his large pond. His pond was the size of two tennis courts, with an island in the middle for the ducks to enjoy. There was wooden edging around the pond that was over ten years old and had started to rot. The pond was generally ready for a facelift.
Our designers put some great designs together, giving it the feel of a very large wildlife pond, then our on-site team got cracking.
We decided to use stone boulders around the edge of the pond. These provided a few steps going into the pond, allowing the wildlife to get in and out easily. It also provided an area for people to sit on the side of the pond, enjoying the tranquillity of nature. We added stones around the edge of the island, too, and installed two small waterfalls, allowing for the soothing sounds of running water to be added to the effect. Fifty tonnes of boulders and three weeks later our team had completed the pond. The pond looked alive again and was ready for many, many years of enjoyment.
