Pond reline and refurbishment – Sudbury, Essex
Our client, Brian, has two ponds in his garden. The larger pond is fenced off from his six Labradors.
The smaller pond, which was leaking, was about 5m x 4m. The liner may have been beyond its sell-by date as it was already 15 years old. The dogs liked to swim in it, so no water plants had survived. One side of the pond was made up from dug-out earth which had settled, and therefore needed raising by about 5cm. The surrounding area was laid with Indian stone, which was set into the lawn.
Brian contacted us as he wanted to replace the liner and reset the stone around the pond.
Brian was happy for our team to get cracking on the pond refurbishment; however, he insisted that the pond needed a “dog-proof” water feature. This was no mean feat for our team – but we did it. We built a natural stone effect waterfall that added lots of character to the pond. It also provided the soothing sounds of running water, which is ideal to sit next to after a long day.
